Kelly Field
Sept 20th

Northeast of Kelly Field, Wilson and Ector retire slightly from their advanced position.  To the northwest, Govan’s brigade encounters Stanley and Dick in the woods.  Stanley’s brigade appears to put up a better fight, but the brigade is driven west toward the Snodgrass cabin.  Dick’s brigade doesn’t seem to have put up much of a fight, and it disintegrates as a fighting force.  A few stragglers rally at the Snodgrass cabin, but most of the brigade continues west toward Missionary Ridge.
In Kelly Field, the 8th Kentucky and 51st Ohio of Barne’s brigade turn to face the sudden fighting to the west.  Van Derveer quickly reforms his brigade.
At the southern end of the field, Turchin has changed front facing south.  Because of space limitations on the map, the 21st Indiana Battery is shown on the front line.  In fact only one section is on the front line where shown.  The remaining two sections are behind the brigade in reserve.  Edward King forms his brigade in a single line facing southwest.  The 75th Indiana sends several companies of skirmishers to the west, where they encounter Confederates from either Hood’s or Kershaw’s divisions.
