Brotheron and Poe Fields
The farms of George Brotherton and Larkin Poe saw considerable fighting on both days of the battle. The Confederate army broke through the Union center at Brotherton Field on both days of the battle. At Poe Field, the Union army repulsed a Confederate attack on the 19th, and likewise did so again on the 20th before having to retire to the northern half of the field because of the breakthrough at the Brotherton Farm. ![]() |
