Brock field from the northwest corner looking south.  This is generally the view Hazen and Turchin’s brigades had when they fought elements of Cheatham’s division attacking from the woods across the field.  In 1863 the field was larger.  The wood line would have been farther to the east, and the forest to the south was only a thin strip of woods behind which was a much larger field.
