From here Adam’s brigade turned south on the morning of the 20th and attacked the rear of the Kelly Field position. In the mid-afternoon, Granger’s Reserve Corps marched from right to left in the distance on the way to Snodgrass Hill. Colonel Daniel McCook’s brigade was left behind and posted on the hill to the left of the McFarland Gap Road. From the camera position here, the Confederate batteries of Fowler and Warren bombarded McCook, and were almost overrun by Reynold’s Union division attacking from the south. |
