Howard’s column arrives at Pickett’s Mill Creek just north of Pickett’s Mill.  The second leg of the journey has taken about an hour.  However, the men have been marching since 11:00 AM through thick underbrush, up and down countless small ravines and spurs.  The men are worn out, and the attack hasn’t even started.
