Confederate Order of Battle
The Campaign

The organization of the Army of Tennessee changed a number of times during the campaign in order to handle the influx of new units sent as reinforcements.  What follows are five major benchmarks in the organization of the army as the campaign progressed.  For the most part, units are labeled by their actual commanders on the field, with the exception of the Reserve Corps, which had a formal name regardless of the commanding officer.  For example, General Hood essentially commanded Longstreet’s Corps during the entire battle, so it is labeled as such.
