* S = Shot, Sh = Shell
† 42-pdr. James rifles used 8 lbs. of powder in the shell, the 32-pdr James rifles used 6 lbs.
‡ Musket powder used to fill the shells.

Remarks:  One 32 pounder front sight was broken off by a shot the first day.  The grooves were kept well cleaned by a scrapper.  Many of the shots of No. 3 turned end over end.  The other pieces gave perfect satisfaction.
